Kelly is a Solicitor at our company. She studied at Swansea University, obtaining honours degree in Law (LLB). Following that, she took a break from further studies and spent a year working in accounts. Kelly has now completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, Chester, obtaining a Distinction accreditation. Kelly was brought up on the family farm located on the outskirts of Llanidloes and although she leaves the majority of farming to her father and brother, she enjoys getting involved. She is the treasurer of Llidiartywaen Young Farmers and enjoys taking part in the events and competitions held throughout out the year.

Law was a second career for Ruth: after she studied Maths at Cambridge and Warwick Universities, she moved to Mid Wales in 1995 to run a design and print business in Newtown, qualified as an Accounting Technician and worked for an educational charity and an MP. She has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since 2014, after being awarded the CILEx Student of the Year award in 2012, for gaining the highest marks in the country in her degree-level law exams. In 2015 she obtained her probate practising rights as the first ever Chartered Legal Executive Probate Practitioner, followed a month later by her conveyancing practising rights, becoming the first dual-qualified Chartered Legal Executive Practitioner.

As well as being experienced in general probate and conveyancing, Ruth is a specialist in intestate estate administration of Bona Vacantia estates, working for two of the country’s top probate genealogy firms, or ‘heir hunters’. She enjoys the extra challenge of the ‘detective work’ that is involved in these estates, where often there is very little known about a person who may have been estranged from their families for decades.

Outside of work, Ruth’s interests have always included music and drama, as a member of Newtown Musical Theatre Company and Côr Trefaldwyn for many years, being a Brownie Leader in Montgomery and County Brownie Adviser for Montgomeryshire, and editing the Montgomery town bimonthly magazine The Crier.

Rachel is a Solicitor at our firm and predominantly deals with non-contentious property and private client matters. She is based at our Rhayader Office but is able to see clients at our other offices when required.

Rachel obtained her Honours Degree in Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Wales Aberystwyth and qualified as a Solicitor in 2014, with a local firm. Rachel has gained considerable experience over the last 6 years dealing with the sales and purchases of Residential Freehold and Leasehold Titles, Remortgages, Transfer of Equity, Agricultural Land, Option Agreements, Shared Ownership Leases and Charges. Rachel is also able to assist and advise in respect of the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorneys and the preparation of Wills and Will Trusts. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys the outdoors, baking and spending time with her family and friends.

William graduated in History from UCW Aberystwyth in 1991 and subsequently worked as an intern and researcher in the US Senate, US House of Representatives and UK House of Commons. William qualified as a Solicitor in 2000 after completing the Common Professional Examination and LPC. William is a postgraduate of Cambridge University and qualified as a Notary Public in 2011. William’s Notarial Practice is independent to that of Milwyn Jenkins and Jenkins. William played league cricket for Welshpool for many years. He is on the Board of the Robert Owen Community Bank based in Newtown and is involved on a voluntary basis with other local clubs and organisations including the Mid Wales Law Society. In 2022 William was appointed as a Deputy Lord Lieutenant for the County of Powys

William played league cricket for Welshpool for over 20 years before turning to golf, where he plays off a handicap of 18. William is an enthusiastic Welsh learner.

Chris is a Conveyancing Assistant with our firm and in particular deals with all matters following completion of the transactions. Having worked in the Legal Profession and Administration since 1995, Chris obtained her CILEx Certificate in Conveyancing and Land Law in 2019. Outside of the office, Chris is a keen tennis player and has been Chairman of Newtown Tennis Club for a number of years and captains 2 teams in the Montgomeryshire League. Chris also enjoys spending time with her family and being out with her dog.
